Position Summary

The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and light-to-medium duty trucks. This role ensures safe and reliable vehicle operation while delivering the high-quality service customers expect across Telle Tire & Auto Centers and its family of brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose diesel engine and vehicle system issues using modern diagnostic tools
  • Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, filters, and fluid services
  • Repair diesel fuel systems, turbochargers, injectors, and emissions components
  • Inspect and repair suspension, steering, brakes, and drivetrain components
  • Perform electrical and electronic diagnostics on diesel systems
  • Complete digital inspections and document work performed in shop systems
  • Communicate repair recommendations clearly with service advisors and leadership
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and company service standards
  • Ability to communicate with customers the explanation of the repair and maintenance findings of their vehicle as needed
  • Ability to perform tire work and working on normal gasoline/hybrid automobile repairs and maintenances
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of diesel or heavy-duty vehicle repair experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and diagnostics
  • Ability to operate shop tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment
  • Valid driver's license required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diesel technical training or vocational certification
  • ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification (T-Series) preferred
  • Experience working on fleet vehicles or commercial trucks

  • Work performed in a professional automotive service center
  • Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and working with tools and equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work around moving mechanical parts
