Eligible for up to a $15,000 Sign‑On Bonus!About the RoleThe Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures across Arnot Health locations, including hospital campuses and physician offices. This role reports to the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine and plays a key part in delivering accurate, safe, and compassionate patient care.What You'll DoDiagnostic & Clinical DutiesPerform all Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology diagnostic exams.Review physician orders for accuracy and ensure patient readiness.Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, including IV insertion when needed.Acquire and process images using gamma cameras and associated computer systems.Operate and troubleshoot Nuclear Medicine equipment and software (PACS, EMR, NM systems).Radiopharmaceutical PreparationSchedule patients and coordinate with the Radiopharmacy.Prepare radiopharmaceutical kits and calculate dosages.Manage and monitor bulk Tc‑99m and ensure sterile technique and proper quality control.Regulatory & Safety ResponsibilitiesHandle ordering, receiving, storing, and disposing of radioactive materials per NYS, Arnot Health, and departmental regulations.Follow radiation safety standards during therapeutic procedures and patient treatments.Therapeutic ProceduresWork closely with referring offices to ensure complete pre‑treatment work‑ups.Coordinate therapy scheduling with Radiologists and department needs.Ensure all safety protocols and documentation requirements are met.Mobile Nuclear Cardiology (If Assigned)Drive a large mobile van to various NY/PA physician offices.Load/unload and set up mobile gamma camera equipment.Work independently with a nurse, physician, and patients to complete exams.Professional ResponsibilitiesProvide age‑appropriate care to patients of all ages.Complete required education, annual training, and continuing education credits.Offer friendly, compassionate, customer‑focused service at all times.Perform additional duties required for accreditation, policy compliance, or Supervisor request.RequirementsCertified or certification‑eligible in Nuclear Medicine through NMTCB or ARRT.Formal 2‑ or 4‑year degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred.Must be eligible for New York State Nuclear Medicine licensure.Valid driver's license and insurability required for mobile assignments.ExperienceOne year of experience preferred - new graduates welcome to apply!CPR CertificationBasic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.Physical DemandsMust be able to lift, move, and position equipment (up to 100 lbs of force).Some bending, reaching, and patient movement required.Exposure CategoryCategory I: Regular exposure to blood and body fluids.Our CultureWe are committed to creating a supportive, collaborative environment where technologists feel valued and empowered.
