Dietary Aide

PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION

Assist in meal preparation, dining service, and cleanup for residents while promoting a positive and social dining environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Experience in food service, hospitality, or healthcare setting preferred.

• Ability to follow directions and maintain sanitation standards.

• Friendly, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.

RESIDENT RIGHTS

• Treat residents with dignity and respect during all meal service interactions.

• Honor resident preferences and assist with special dietary needs.

• Maintain confidentiality and report concerns to supervisor.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Set up dining room, serve meals, and assist residents during meal times.

• Deliver meal trays and snacks; ensure food is served at proper temperature.

• Assist cook with food preparation and cleaning as needed.

• Wash dishes, sanitize equipment, and maintain clean kitchen/dining areas.

• Remove trash and recycling; restock supplies; rotate stored foods.

SAFETY AND SANITATION

• Follow infection control and food safety protocols.

• Wear appropriate PPE; maintain hand hygiene and clean uniforms.

• Report any safety or sanitation concerns immediately.

• Participate in fire, emergency, and safety training.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs; stand/walk for extended periods.

• Work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• Provide assistance during emergencies or evacuations as assigned.
