.KE Camps is seeking a qualified and certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI) to support oursummer camp aquatic program. The WSI is responsible for conducting swim assessments,ensuring compliance with New York State Department of Health (NY DOH) regulations, andcollaborating with camp leadership to appropriately classify campers based on theirswimming abilities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experiencedin evaluating swim skills in a camp or aquatic setting.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a current Water Safety Instructor certification (including valid BLS or CPRfor Professional Rescuers course )through an approved training organization, suchas the American Red Cross or another nationally recognized certifying body.Conduct camper swim tests and evaluations in accordance with New York StateDepartment of Health (NY DOH) regulations and facility requirements.Accurately assess swimmer abilities and assign campers to the appropriate swimclassification based on NY DOH-established swim proficiency standards.Partner closely with the Camp Director to ensure all campers are properly classifiedprior to participating in aquatic activities.Document swim test results and communicate classifications to camp leadershipas required.Support the implementation and enforcement of all aquatic safety procedures andrisk management practices.Provide guidance and recommendations regarding camper swim abilities and anynecessary restrictions or accommodation.Serve as a professional representative of KE Camps, fostering a safe, positive, andinclusive environment for campers and families.Required QualificationsCurrent Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification from the American Red Cross oran equivalent approved certifying organization.Strong knowledge of water safety principles and swim instruction techniques.Experience conducting swim assessments and evaluating swimmer proficiency.Ability to interpret and apply New York State Department of Health aquaticregulations.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with camp leadership and aquatic staff.Availability RequirementsThe selected candidate must be available on the following dates:Tuesday, August 4Tuesday, August 11Availability on both dates is required to conduct camper swim testing and classificationactivities.KE Camps CommitmentKE Camps is committed to providing a safe, fun, and supportive camp experience.
