SUBSTANCE ABUSE TECHNICIAN (SAT)

Schedule

1st/2nd/3rd shift; weekends 12-hr

Position Summary

Provides direct supervision of persons served, milieu management, behavioral observation, shift documentation, group facilitation support, and incident reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of ARISE SAT training program
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must pass drug test and background check

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Drug test at Hancock Gateway Lab
  • Criminal background check must clear before first day
  • OIG LEIE screening
  • TB skin test or proof within past year
  • Immunizations

Job Responsibilities (derived from ARISE policies):

  • Maintain safe, therapeutic milieu environment
  • Conduct behavioral observation and document changes in behavior, mood, or safety risk
  • Complete accurate, timely shift documentation
  • Assist clinicians with group facilitation
  • Execute elopement response: recognition, actions, notification chain, documentation
  • Identify signs of substance use or possession; follow contraband procedures
  • Supervise persons served during activities, meals, and transitions
  • Conduct head counts and accountability procedures using Client Daily Census Sheet
  • Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis response
  • Submit incident reports in SharePoint
  • Participate in all emergency drills
  • Cover front desk functions during overnight shift
  • Secure sign-in logs, census sheets, and MARs during evacuation if safe
  • Assist persons served with mobility limitations during emergencies

  • Self-disclose arrests, charges, or convictions within 48 hours
