Job Description

Waste Recovery Systems is looking to add a full time General Laborer to our team. This candidate will be continuously learning each day and is given the opportunity to excel within the company. A positive attitude and strong and safe work ethic are essential. A chauffeur's license and clean driving record is required for this position. Emergency jobs during non-regular work hours will be on a rotational basis. Full time benefit eligible.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Safely operate a variety of tools and equipment
  • Ensure proper personal protective equipment is worn while performing work
  • Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Prepare job sites as directed
  • Maintain comprehensive service documentation
  • Provide assistance to operators, team members, contractors and customers as needed
  • Clean and clear debris and hazards
  • Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly

    Requirements, Qualifications and Skills


      • Valid MI Chauffer’s License - Required
      • Clean, insurable driving record for the last 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report)
      • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
      • Ability to perform occasionally in small and confined spaces
      • Ability to work overtime
      • Must be reliable and punctual
      • Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn
      • Troubleshoot problems that arise
      • Take part in on-call emergency rotation; required 1 week per month
      • Prior experience in construction, environmental, and/or excavating preferred
        • Ability to maintain service documentation daily
        • Ability to apply common sense understanding
        • Ability to carry out written and oral instructions
        • Good oral and written communication skills
        • Use an objective approach toward decision making
        • Ability to maintain a good relationship between the company and customer
