Logistics Associate
Job Description
Most Logistics employees start at the level of “Associate,” based on hiring practices,though other starting titles are achievable, based on internal business requirements. Associates have the ability to work their way ‘up through the ranks’ via exceptional performance and by meeting outside education requirements (University/College, Certification, etc.). As with any business, our client's employees must maintain great efforts in order to achieve advancements through merit; improved titles and ‘pay grades’ are not given based on length of employment.
**Job Description: **The Logistics Associate may be responsible for coordination of inbound and outbound material, receipt processing, warehousing, filling customer orders, picking and distributing production material, and packaging and shipping material.
Essential Functions:
Receiving/Putaway:
- Stocking material in accordance with department stocking guidelines
- Receipt processing including verifying receipts against packing slip and routing / stocking receipted material
- Data entry of transactions
- Daily organization and cleaning of warehouse areas
Inventory Control/Re-warehousing:
- Assigning, maintaining, and updating warehouse locations
- Data entry of transactions
- Daily organization and cleaning of warehouse areas
- Daily inventory cycle counts and reconciliation of inventory variances
Production Pick:
Pick and package material for internal requirements per orders
Prepare material, robots, and controllers for shipment
Daily organization and cleaning of warehouse areas
Receipt processing including verifying receipts against packing slip and routing receipted material
Replenishment Order (RPL) Window/Tool Crib:
Pick and package material for internal & external requirements per orders
Receipt processing including verifying receipts against packing slip and routing / stocking receipted material
Data entry of transactions
Daily organization and cleaning of warehouse areas
Distribution:
Pick and package material for internal & external requirements per orders
Receipt processing including verifying receipts against packing slip and routing receipted material
Prepare material, robots, and controllers for shipment
Data entry of transactions
Daily organization and cleaning of warehouse areas
Dock Support:
Package material for internal & external requirements per orders
Assigning, maintaining, and updating warehouse locations for robots / robodrills
Prepare material, robots, and controllers for shipment
Data entry of transactions
Daily organization and cleaning of warehouse areas
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Operate equipment: Fork Lift Truck, Manlift, Reach Truck, Sky Jack, Pallet Jack, & Stock Chasers
- Filing of departmental records
- Reorganize and reconfigure warehouse areas as required
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Solid communication skills
- Detail oriented
- PC skills preferred including ability to use scan gun / equipment
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- Associate Degree in Logistics, Supply-Chain Management, Engineering, or Business-related degree program preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience in Logistics & Warehousing preferred
- Forklift, man lift, reach truck, electric pallet walker, and/or overhead crane helpful
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
- Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb a ladder, drive a fork truck, operate overhead crane, load and unload trucks
VISUAL ACUITY, HEARING, SPEAKING:
- Good visual acuity, hearing, and speaking is required
ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULING:
- Fast-paced environment, many demands, must be able to prioritize workload to best
compliment company goals and meet internal metric demands (LPH)
- Schedule flexibility to work overtime, including weekend and/or multiple shift coverage, as business needs require
