Tractor-Trailer Dispatcher (with Data Entry & Mentoring Focus)

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Tractor-Trailer Dispatcher who can manage freight operations while maintaining accurate data entry and supporting new team members through mentoring and guidance.

This role combines logistics coordination, administrative accuracy, and team support—it’s not just dispatching, it’s keeping the entire operation running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch Operations

• Assign loads to drivers based on availability, location, and efficiency
• Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
• Communicate consistently with drivers, brokers, and customers
• Monitor shipments and resolve delays or issues in real time
• Use load board systems like DAT Load Board and Truckstop

Data Entry & Documentation

• Enter and update load details (locations, times, rates, weight)
• Maintain accurate driver logs and shipment records
• Upload and manage documents (BOLs, rate confirmations, PODs)
• Track expenses such as fuel and detention
• Use systems like spreadsheets and email platforms such as Microsoft Outlook

Important: Accuracy is critical—incorrect data can lead to missed deliveries, compliance issues, or financial loss.

Mentoring & Team Support

• Assist in training new dispatchers on systems and workflow
• Provide guidance on communication with drivers and brokers
• Review data entry for accuracy and provide constructive feedback
• Support team members in improving organization and efficiency
• Help create a structured, supportive work environment

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong communication and coordination skills
• High attention to detail (especially with data entry)
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of trucking/logistics (preferred, not always required)
• Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
