Paralegal
Job Description
A well-established Fort Lauderdale law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its team. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience and be comfortable supporting attorneys through all stages of matters in both Florida state and federal courts.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys throughout the full litigation lifecycle, from case inception through trial and resolution.
- Assist with state and federal litigation, including preparing and filing pleadings, motions, discovery, notices, and other court documents.
- Draft, serve, and respond to discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
- Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, exhibits, and litigation databases.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, conferences, and trial-related activities.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial binders, exhibit lists, witness lists, deposition summaries, and trial exhibits.
- Conduct legal and factual research and assist attorneys with case preparation and strategy.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and other third parties.
- Monitor court deadlines, filing requirements, and case calendars to ensure timely compliance.
- Prepare and coordinate electronic filings through state and federal court systems.
- Assist attorneys with deposition preparation and organization of supporting materials.
- Review and organize documents, evidence, and discovery for complex litigation matters.
- Provide general case management and administrative support to attorneys as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting matters in both Florida state and federal courts.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, court filings, and deadlines.
- Prior experience with trial preparation and supporting attorneys through trial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with legal research, e-filing systems, Microsoft Office, and legal case management software.
