Tutor - Certified CNA & PCT

Lehman College, School of Continuing & Professional Studies (SCPS), Workforce Program is seeking tutors to support the instructor with the daily operations of the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), and the Patient Care Technician (PCT) class in-person and online. Applicants must have a valid CNA certificate and/or a valid PCT certificate. Familiarity with online teaching technologies such as zoom for online tutoring sessions and online Learning Management Systems such as Moodle is preferred. The tutor must have good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• In addition to providing support with in-class activities, lead online tutoring sessions once per week.
• Demonstrate knowledge about course content and the requirement to pass the Prometric CNA or the NHA exam.
• Prepare lessons to review course content previously taught.
• Review textbook, and quiz questions with students to ensure understanding.
• Practice clinical skills with students
• Work directly with students to assist them in gaining a better understanding of concepts taught in the classroom.
• Communicate with instructor and program administrative staff to track students’ progress

Requirement:

• Must have a high school diploma
• Must have a current NYS CNA or PCT Certificate
• Must have computer and reliable internet access
• Must be able to take supervision and correction constructively
• Must be Patient, flexible, consistent, reliable and cooperative
