Cable/Low Voltage/Networking Technician
Job Description
About the Position
We are seeking a Low Voltage / Networking Technician to support the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of motorized window treatments and smart-home technology.
The ideal candidate has experience with structured cabling, networking, low-voltage systems, Wi-Fi, and electronic devices and is comfortable working in residential environments. Experience with motorized shades or window treatments is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Install and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring and equipment.
- Dress and terminate Cat5e/Cat6 and other low-voltage cabling.
- Install shades and configure network-connected devices.
- Troubleshoot shade aps to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and network connectivity issues.
- Program and configure motorized shades, blinds, remotes, hubs, and control systems.
- Assist with smart-home and automation integrations.
- Test systems and verify proper operation before completing each installation.
- Identify and resolve motors and wiring, communication, and programming issues.
- Work with customers to explain system operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with sales and installation teams to ensure projects are completed correctly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.

Qualifications
- Experience with low-voltage installation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, connectors, and basic networking.
- Understanding of routers, switches, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and IP-connected devices.
- Comfortable using hand tools, ladders, testing equipment, and technology.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, apps, and manufacturer programming tools.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, installation instructions, and technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift equipment and work on ladders.
Window Treatment Experience Is NOT Required
If you have a background in networking, cable, low voltage, AV, security, or home automation, we are willing to train the right candidate on the window-treatment products.
The key is having the technical ability to understand wiring, connectivity, programming, and troubleshooting.
