Job Brief
Innerpak inc. Is seeking an organized shift supervisor to oversee operations and ensure staff are working effectively and efficiently. A shift supervisor is responsible for assigning tasks to staff, enforcing safety and health regulations, keeping production running, and ensuring that production meets the company’s standards.
To be a successful shift supervisor at innerpak, you must be able to multitask. An effective shift supervisor can ensure multiple machines are running jobs to their maximum capability at the same time.
Daily, you’ll supervise employees during the shift to make sure they complete their tasks and are motivated to continue to work effectively. Shift supervisor skills include contributing to the production strategy by knowing and understanding business goals and how to achieve them. You will become a reference point for employees, ready to solve problems when they arise.
Ultimately, you’ll help maintain our business reputation by ensuring daily duties are completed and goals are met.
(This position is for 2nd shift, meaning hours are 1 - 11PM, Monday – Thursday)
Job Responsibilities
Scheduling and Workforce Management
• Manage daily employee schedules, shift assignments, and time-off requests
• Coordinate staffing levels by allocating employees to prioritized machines to meet production and operational demands
Employee Supervision
• Assign duties and monitor employee progress throughout each shift
• Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback as needed
• Train and onboard new employees to ensure successful integration into the team
Production Oversight
• Monitor daily production activities to ensure goals and deadlines are met
• Coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency
• Identify and address production issues that may impact output or quality
Employee Relations
• Address employee concerns and complaints in a professional manner
• Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts to maintain a positive work environment
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication among staff
Material Handling and Logistics
• Coordinate the movement of products, materials, and equipment between various workstations
• Support efficient workflow by ensuring materials are available where needed
• Assist with inventory organization and material tracking as required
Compliance and Safety
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations
• Monitor workplace practices to maintain a safe and productive environment
• Participate and support safety initiatives, training, and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
• Highschool diploma or GED required
• Associate or bachelor's degree in management, business, operations, or related field (preferred but not required)
Experience
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Previous experience overseeing production teams, employee performance, and shift operations
Skills and Abilities
· Bilingual English/Spanish skills (REQUIRED)
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing safety standards and safe work practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and other shifts
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills strongly recommended
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities
• Ability to enforce company policy and administer corrective actions when necessary
• Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow management directives and ensure operational goals are achieved
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, and move throughout the production area
• Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 50lbs
• Ability to work in a manufacturing level with varying noise levels and production demands
