Pay Rate $30.00
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-4pm
8-week temporary assignment
Kelly is seeking a temporary Facility Maintenance Parts & Inventory Specialist with hands-on facility or building maintenance experience.
The ideal candidate can confidently identify pumps, valves, fittings, motors, and other common maintenance parts based on practical experience. This individual will organize the maintenance storeroom and accurately enter identified parts into the Asset Essentials computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Success in this position requires strong mechanical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and careful attention to detail. This is not primarily a data-entry, operations, or administrative role.
This is a temporary position. Work schedules and hours may vary based on business needs.
Essential Functions- Identify pumps, valves, fittings, motors, bearings, fasteners, and other common facility and industrial maintenance parts.
- Determine the appropriate part name, description, category, and equipment application.
- Organize maintenance parts and materials to create an efficient, accurate, and easy-to-navigate inventory system.
- Enter identified parts into the Asset Essentials CMMS using established naming conventions.
- Assign inventory items to the appropriate equipment and assets within the CMMS.
- Create, organize, and maintain storage locations within the inventory system.
- Perform physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Assemble, label, arrange, and modify shelving systems for safe and efficient storage.
- Relocate shelving, parts, and storage materials as operational needs require.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe maintenance storage areas.
- Provide regular updates to the Maintenance Manager regarding progress, unidentified parts, and inventory discrepancies.
- Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and PPE requirements.
- Attend required safety and job-specific training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Hands-on experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a closely related mechanical field.
- Demonstrated ability to visually identify common maintenance parts and explain their general purpose or application.
- Working knowledge of pumps, valves, fittings, motors, bearings, fasteners, and related mechanical components.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately categorize, label, store, and track maintenance inventory.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn a computerized maintenance management system.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and complete an inventory organization project with limited supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous responsibility for organizing or managing a maintenance parts storeroom.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or plant environment.
- Experience using Asset Essentials or another CMMS.
- Experience conducting cycle counts, physical inventories, or inventory reconciliation.
- Experience purchasing, receiving, stocking, or issuing maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) parts.
