Job Description

Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (RI or eligibility for RI certification)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs in an elementary school setting
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with various learning, physical, or behavioral challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families, staff, and administrators
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Assess academic and behavioral progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Maintain accurate records, including progress reports and documentation
- Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom climate
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
