Qualifications & Experience

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (RI or eligibility for RI certification)
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs in an elementary school setting
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with various learning, physical, or behavioral challenges
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families, staff, and administrators
• Ability to adapt to changing needs and remain organized in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
• Assess academic and behavioral progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Maintain accurate records, including progress reports and documentation
• Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom climate
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
