Controller
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to support financial operations and provide strong oversight of accounting activities in Everett, Washington. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone in finance who can maintain accurate records, strengthen internal controls, and guide day-to-day operational accounting and reporting processes. The role calls for someone who combines technical accounting knowledge with a hands-on approach to maintaining financial integrity and operational consistency.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting activities to ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with established standards.
• Direct bookkeeping operations, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and review of general ledger activity.
• Monitor internal accounting controls and recommend improvements that enhance compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting reports for leadership and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and reliable reporting.
• Support audits and regulatory reviews by organizing documentation and addressing accounting-related inquiries.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and improve overall reporting quality.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential desired but not required.
• Demonstrated experience in controller-level accounting oversight or comparable financial leadership responsibilities.
• Strong background in operational accounting functions, including reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and financial record review.
• Solid knowledge of accounting controls and best practices for maintaining accurate financial reporting.
• Ability to interpret financial data, identify inconsistencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Proficiency in preparing financial statements and managing closing activities with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, leadership and prior process improvement.
