Well established growing Omaha CPA firm looking for a Senior Accountant ready to take real ownership of client engagements. This role is a natural next step for someone with a few years of public accounting experience under their belt comfortable handling complex returns independently, ready to start reviewing the work of others, and looking to build toward a management track.
You will work directly with managers and partners on a diverse client base, take the lead on your own engagements, and start mentoring staff accountants along the way. It is a role with more autonomy, more client-facing responsibility, and a clear line of sight to the next level.

What You'll Do
• Prepare and review individual, business, and partnership Federal and State tax returns
• Prepare and review Federal and State payroll tax returns and personal property tax filings
• Conduct tax research and help resolve moderately complex client issues
• Manage your own portfolio of client engagements from start to finish
• Build strong client relationships and serve as a day-to-day point of contact
• Review the work of staff accountants and provide feedback and mentorship
• Support bookkeeping, QuickBooks implementation, and accounting service engagements
• Prepare and review depreciation schedules
• Assist with financial statement preparation and attest service engagements
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client planning and special projects
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 2-4 years of public accounting experience
• Willing to pursue CPA licensure, either already meeting the requirements to sit for the exam or working toward a clear plan to do so
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sharp attention to detail with strong organizational habits
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort taking initiative and mentoring less experienced staff
• Flexibility to work additional hours during tax season (January–April) and as needed
Nice to Have
• Experience with CCH Axcess or Prosystem FX Tax
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Prior experience reviewing the work of junior staff
