This role is a natural next step for someone with a few years of public accounting experience under their belt comfortable handling complex returns independently, ready to start reviewing the work of others, and looking to build toward a management track.

You will work directly with managers and partners on a diverse client base, take the lead on your own engagements, and start mentoring staff accountants along the way. It is a role with more autonomy, more client-facing responsibility, and a clear line of sight to the next level.

Competitive compensation, strong benefits, and a firm that genuinely values work-life balance.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and review individual, business, and partnership Federal and State tax returns

• Prepare and review Federal and State payroll tax returns and personal property tax filings

• Conduct tax research and help resolve moderately complex client issues

• Manage your own portfolio of client engagements from start to finish

• Build strong client relationships and serve as a day-to-day point of contact

• Review the work of staff accountants and provide feedback and mentorship

• Support bookkeeping, QuickBooks implementation, and accounting service engagements

• Prepare and review depreciation schedules

• Assist with financial statement preparation and attest service engagements

• Collaborate with managers and partners on client planning and special projects

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• 2-4 years of public accounting experience

• Willing to pursue CPA licensure, either already meeting the requirements to sit for the exam or working toward a clear plan to do so

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Sharp attention to detail with strong organizational habits

• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Comfort taking initiative and mentoring less experienced staff

• Flexibility to work additional hours during tax season (January–April) and as needed

Nice to Have

• Experience with CCH Axcess or Prosystem FX Tax

• Working knowledge of GAAP

• Prior experience reviewing the work of junior staff

What We Offer

• Competitive salary with performance-based incentives

• Comprehensive benefits package

• Genuine work-life balance in a flexible environment

• Ongoing professional development and mentorship

• A clear growth path toward a management role
