Commercial Electrician – MechanicPosition Summary

Clark Electric is seeking a Commercial Electrician – Mechanic to install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment on commercial construction projects. This position works under a supervisor and may provide direction to an Electrician Helper.

Responsibilities
  • Install conduit, wiring, panels, lighting, devices, switchgear, and prefabricated assemblies.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and project layouts to complete installations accurately.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit.
  • Pull, splice, terminate, and connect wiring to electrical equipment and devices.
  • Test and troubleshoot circuits, feeders, and installed systems.
  • Identify and repair faulty equipment or unsafe conditions.
  • Coordinate work with other trades and direct assigned helpers.
  • Gather necessary tools and materials while minimizing waste.
  • Complete required paperwork and follow Clark Electric and OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Commercial electrical construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with EMT, GRC, MC cable, switchgear, and lighting layouts preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and written instructions.
  • Basic math, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely use conduit benders, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to operate lifts, trenchers, and related construction equipment.
  • Ability to identify wire colors and follow procedures for energized equipment.
  • Dependable transportation and ability to supervise Electrician Helpers.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and frequently carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and reach overhead for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from mechanical lifts.
  • Adequate vision and hearing, with or without correction.
