Narcotics Deputy Position title: Deputy Division: Narcotics Shift: 8-hour variable shifts Job Duties: Investigates and apprehends individuals suspected of narcotics related crimes such as drug trafficking and drug possession. Gathers and analyzes information, searches for and gathers physical or documentary evidence or clues; interviews witnesses, interrogates suspects; obtains signed statements and affidavits; prepares investigative reports and case records.Presents findings in clear, logical, impartial and properly documented reports.Appears as a witness in criminal and administrative court proceedings; drafts and executes legal documents for use in criminal and administrative investigations, subpoenas for evidence, search warrants, arrest warrants and affidavits.Participates in in-service training; studies professional material relating to new investigative procedures and techniques; studies legal materials relating to court rulings and state and federal law; attends training sessions to acquire new skills.Operates and monitors electronic surveillance equipment; operates computers and computer software.Conduct long term physical and electronic surveillance of suspects.Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications: 1 year of work experience in Criminal Operations (does not include Communications or CIU).No disciplinary suspensions within the last 6 months; all other disciplinary or corrective actions will be reviewed by the selection committee.Basic Law Enforcement P.O.S.T. CertifiedFirearms qualifiedMust currently be in an armed law enforcement positionMust be willing to participate in bi-weekly Range training which consists of physically active Close Quarter Battle and firearms trainingMust be willing to participate in monthly division defensive tactics trainingMust adhere to quarterly physical standards testing HOW TO APPLY Letters of application and resumes must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2026.
