Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
%CF; Provide direct nursing care to residents, including routine monitoring of vital signs, administering medications, and performing medical procedures as needed.
%CF; Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the medical and mental health needs of each resident.
%CF; Respond promptly to medical emergencies, employing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to stabilize patients.
%CF; Educate residents and their families about treatment plans, medications, and self-care practices to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their health needs.
Collaboration and Communication
%CF; Work closely with LCCA, Program Director, physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other members of the care team to develop and execute treatment strategies.
%CF; Participate in regular case reviews to assess progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
%CF; Document patient information accurately and promptly, maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards for healthcare records.
%CF; Advocate for residents’ rights and well-being, always ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Administrative and Leadership Duties
%CF; Supervise and train support staff, including direct delivery caregivers, case managers, licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), ensuring adherence to best practices and facility protocols.
%CF; Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as the policies of the Residential Treatment Center.
%CF; Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
%CF; Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
%CF; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
%CF; BLS (Basic Life Support) and/or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
%CF; Additional certifications in psychiatric or mental health nursing (preferred but not required).
Experience and Skills
%CF; Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a nursing role, preferably in a residential, behavioral health, or long-term care setting.
%CF; Strong clinical skills with the ability to handle mental health crises and medical emergencies effectively.
%CF; Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
%CF; Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
