Receiving Specialist
Job Description
The Receiving Specialist will be responsible for conducting detailed dimensional and visual inspections on critical parts, assemblies, and raw materials. Receiving Inspectors must document inspection findings, produce required documentation and reports, and determine acceptance or rejection. Experience in the metal industry is preferred but not required. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong judgment, and the ability to consistently enforce compliance and safety processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Materials, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Quality teams, you will perform detailed inspections of incoming shipments; identify discrepancies or damage, and take appropriate action.
- Verify contents against purchase orders, packing documentation, and inspection checklist.
- Use basic measuring tools to validate measurement accuracy of incoming products.
- Identify and document Material Non-Conformances at Receiving Inspection.
- Complete, maintain, and distribute appropriate quality records and documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of material and where stock and overstock locations are.
- Accurately receive all items into the inventory management system, applying correct condition codes and other vital records for in the chain-of-custody.
- Perform basic inventory control functions such as stocking parts, cycle counts and labeling products.
Requirements:
- 2 + years of senior or lead experience, overseeing stores, logistics, and inventory.
- Proficient with common inspection tools (e.g., calipers, rulers, pin gauges).
- 4 + years’ experience with first/in-process and/or final material inspection.
- 4 + years’ experience working in a shipping/receiving and/or material handling department.
- Strong detail orientation and understanding of safe work processes and procedures.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and basic data entry systems.
- Experience in safely using forklifts, side loaders and other industrial equipment.

Starting compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will be hired at the top of the posted salary range.
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday to Friday and Saturdays as needed
