Job Description

Job Description
Lead complex machinery moves and installations in Spartanburg, SC

Picture your morning as the go-to expert on our job site. Over coffee, you finalize the day’s lift plan, confirm permits, and run a quick safety huddle. By mid-morning, you’re walking the floor, checking anchor points, reviewing a schematic with a technician, and coaching a new hire on best-practice rigging. Afternoon brings a precision alignment, a call with another department to resolve a technical snag, and a progress update logged against project milestones. That’s a typical day for our Industrial Rigging & Machinery Installation Superintendent.

What you’ll do
  • Direct and coordinate millwrights and rigging crews to deliver safe, on-time equipment installations.
  • Plan and schedule millwright and rigging tasks across specific installation projects, sequencing work for efficiency.
  • Champion safety—enforcing company policies and all applicable regulations on every lift and lockout.
  • Inspect machinery and supporting systems regularly; identify issues early and implement corrective actions.
  • Coach, train, and mentor team members on techniques, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve installation goals and overcome technical challenges.
  • Maintain thorough records of project activities, equipment condition, and performance data.
  • Assist with budgeting and resource planning to keep labor, equipment, and materials aligned to scope.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant technical degree/certification is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience as a millwright and rigger, including proven success leading crews.
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, millwright methods, and rigging practices.
  • Confident leadership and clear communication in dynamic field environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Safe, skilled use of hand and power tools.
  • Sharp troubleshooting ability and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
