Inventory Control Warehouse Lead

Reports To: Operations Manager / General Manager

Location: Fontana, CA

On-site Position, Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Warehouse Lead is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, leading daily inventory control activities, and supporting warehouse operations through cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvements. This role provides day-to-day leadership to the Inventory Control team while ensuring customer inventory integrity and compliance with company procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain inventory accuracy within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Perform daily cycle counts, location audits, and physical inventories.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Research and process inventory adjustments with proper documentation.
  • Monitor inventory transactions including receiving, moves, replenishment, picking, and shipping.
  • Maintain organized and accurate inventory locations.
  • Support Receiving, Shipping, Customer Service, and Returns departments.
  • Validate inventory prior to customer shipments.
  • Lead daily activities of Inventory Control Associates.
  • Train team members on inventory procedures and WMS transactions.
  • Generate inventory reports and monitor KPIs.
  • Support customer audits and annual physical inventories.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs and safety requirements.
Qualifications
  • Min of 5 years of warehouse inventory control experience.
  • Minimum 1 year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Filters, basic formulas).
  • Experience performing cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Forklift experience or ability to become certified.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a 3PL warehouse environment.
  • Experience with Synapse WMS or similar warehouse management systems.
  • Experience supporting retail customers such as Walmart or Target.
  • Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely ( Stand up Reach & Order Selectors)
