Job Title: Graduate Assistant (GA)
Department: Title IX
Reports to: Title IX Coordinator
Position Type: Eighth (5 hours)
Duration: Academic Year 2026-2027
The Title IX Graduate Assistant (TIX-GA) supports faculty and staff within the Title IX office with a variety of tasks related to student training, college community programming & outreach, and administrative duties. This role provides graduate students with valuable professional experience while they pursue their advanced studies. The GA collaborates closely with faculty and staff to help achieve departmental objectives, encourages academic involvement, and contributes to the success of departmental initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- TrainingSupport: Assist withCanvas TIX trainingcoursematerialsaccess and troubleshooting FAQ and student issues.Assistwith updating tasks,assignments andcomprehension checksrequiredfor completionunder the supervision ofTitle IX staff.
- Education / Community Outreach:Provides support and attendance at college community programs and tabling events throughout the academic semesters; Planning and Organizing with Title IXstaff forvarious educational programs.
- Administrative Tasks: Help organize departmental events, workshops, and conferences. Provide general administrative assistance, includingbut not limited toresponding to emails,schedulingand attendingmeetings, maintaining records, and updating databases.
- Student Support/Collaboration: Assist with necessary student support with Canvas Student training course.
- Research/Data Support: Assist with data collection specific to each department
- Communication and Outreach: Draft, edit, facilitate communication such as flyers, newsletters, and social media.
- Other Duties: Complete additional tasksassigned by the department, faculty, or supervisor that support professional development and academic goals.
- Peak Times: Works during high impact periods, which include, but are not limited to: annual forum, graduation, orientations, week prior to the start of the semester, first two weeks of the semester, last two weeks of the semester prior to finals, and advising periods.
Qualifications
- Enrollment/accepted in a Lackawanna College graduate program in Higher Education, Organizational Leadership & Management, Professional Studies, or MBA
- Strong academic standing.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency inMicrosoft Word, Excel, Teams, Canvas and Canva
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
