Summary

A leading healthcare general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee HCAI/OSHPD healthcare construction projects throughout Northern California. Projects include hospital renovations, imaging suites, operating rooms, tenant improvements, and other highly technical healthcare environments where construction is performed in and around occupied facilities.

The ideal candidate has recent HCAI/OSHPD experience, understands the complexities of working in active hospitals, and is committed to delivering projects safely, on schedule, and with minimal disruption to patients and staff.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day field operations on HCAI/OSHPD healthcare construction projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and project scheduling
  • Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules using MS Project
  • Ensure work complies with HCAI/OSHPD requirements, project specifications, and quality standards
  • Maintain project safety while working in occupied hospital environments
  • Coordinate construction activities around hospital staff, patients, and ongoing medical operations
  • Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate daily field activities
  • Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and field changes
  • Maintain daily reports, project documentation, and quality control
  • Partner with Project Managers to keep projects on schedule and within budget

Requirements
  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a general contractor
  • Recent HCAI/OSHPD healthcare construction experience required
  • Experience working in active hospitals, imaging departments, operating rooms, or other occupied healthcare facilities
  • Strong understanding of healthcare renovation and tenant improvement projects
  • Proficient with MS Project scheduling
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ground-up healthcare construction experience
  • Experience managing multiple phases within occupied medical facilities
  • Strong knowledge of infection control, ICRA, and healthcare construction best practices
