We are seeking a highly skilled and ASE Certified Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. A strong understanding of diesel engine systems, diagnostics, and safety standards is essential. ASE certification is required to ensure top-level service and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, buses, and other fleet vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Conduct inspections to identify worn or damaged parts and perform necessary repairs.
  • Maintain service records, work orders, and maintenance logs.
  • Replace or repair faulty components, including brakes, steering systems, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Use diagnostic software and onboard systems to troubleshoot issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and service staff to ensure timely and quality repairs.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, technologies, and ASE certification requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • ASE Certification(s) in Diesel Engines, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience working with diesel engines or heavy equipment.
  • Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostics and repairs.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet maintenance best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 75 lbs).
  • Work in various environments including outdoors, noisy garages, or under vehicles.
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, and working in awkward positions.
