Registered Nurse (RN) - Avir at Hico- Night Shift

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at Avir at Hico, a long-term care facility in Hico, Texas. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents while promoting a positive and supportive environment.

Job Summary:

As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to our residents while supervising the day-to-day nursing activities of your assigned unit. You will ensure that the nursing services policies and procedures manual is followed by nursing personnel and that it reflects the day-to-day nursing care procedures always used by our facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, treating wounds, and monitoring vital signs.

  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day nursing activities of your assigned unit, ensuring that all care is provided in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility to ensure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of our residents.

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of infection control and universal precautions to ensure that a sanitary environment is always maintained.

  • Monitor and report all incidents and accidents immediately, and correct all unsafe and hazardous conditions and equipment immediately.

  • Provide guidance and support to nursing personnel, including counseling and disciplining as necessary.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and ensure that resident's property and personal rights are always followed by your personnel.

  • Participate in the comprehensive assessment of the nursing needs of each resident in your assigned area and participate in the development of the care plan.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with a current license in the State of Texas.

  • Knowledgeable in rehabilitative and restorative practices.

  • Must possess a working knowledge of long-term care operational standards as set forth in the Federal Register, Conditions of participation and State Regulations.

  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.

  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.

  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.

  • Ability to remain calm under stress, function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.

  • Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
