Are you the welder everyone calls for tight-tolerance turbine work?
Join our Westside of Jacksonville team and apply expert GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW techniques to repair and fabricate gas and steam turbine components with exacting precision.
Compensation: $24–$30/hr
You will- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, repair procedures, and welding specifications.
- Set up and run welding equipment with safety, repeatability, and efficiency.
- Perform weld build-up, restoration, fabrication, and repair on turbomachinery and heavy industrial hardware.
- Control preheat, interpass temperatures, and conduct post-weld operations to spec.
- Grind, blend, contour, and polish welds to engineering and customer standards.
- Partner with machinists, inspectors, and supervisors to meet all repair requirements.
- Adhere to company safety policies and quality management standards.
- 300 & 400 Series Stainless Steels
- Hastelloy‑X and Inconel alloys
- Aluminum and Silicon Bronze
- Carbon and low‑alloy steels
- Sheet/sections as thin as 0.060 inches while holding dimensional and metallurgical integrity
- Background in gas and steam turbine component repair.
- Experience welding turbine diaphragms, nozzle segments, combustion components, casings, rotors, and similar parts.
- Knowledge of NDE requirements, including PT (liquid penetrant) and MT (magnetic particle).
- Comfort working to precision machining tolerances and fit-ups.
- Current AWS certifications are a plus.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, bend, and kneel in an industrial shop setting.
- Operate welding, grinding, and material-handling equipment safely.
