Advanced Alloy GTAW Fabrication Technician

Are you the welder everyone calls for tight-tolerance turbine work?

Join our Westside of Jacksonville team and apply expert GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW techniques to repair and fabricate gas and steam turbine components with exacting precision.

Compensation: $24–$30/hr

You will

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, repair procedures, and welding specifications.
• Set up and run welding equipment with safety, repeatability, and efficiency.
• Perform weld build-up, restoration, fabrication, and repair on turbomachinery and heavy industrial hardware.
• Control preheat, interpass temperatures, and conduct post-weld operations to spec.
• Grind, blend, contour, and polish welds to engineering and customer standards.
• Partner with machinists, inspectors, and supervisors to meet all repair requirements.
• Adhere to company safety policies and quality management standards.

Materials and thicknesses

• 300 & 400 Series Stainless Steels
• Hastelloy‑X and Inconel alloys
• Aluminum and Silicon Bronze
• Carbon and low‑alloy steels
• Sheet/sections as thin as 0.060 inches while holding dimensional and metallurgical integrity

Preferred qualifications

• Background in gas and steam turbine component repair.
• Experience welding turbine diaphragms, nozzle segments, combustion components, casings, rotors, and similar parts.
• Knowledge of NDE requirements, including PT (liquid penetrant) and MT (magnetic particle).
• Comfort working to precision machining tolerances and fit-ups.
• Current AWS certifications are a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Physical capabilities

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, bend, and kneel in an industrial shop setting.
• Operate welding, grinding, and material-handling equipment safely.
