Job Title: Research Assistant (part-time) 15-20 Hours per week to start then hours will ramp up Location: Aurora, Colorado Type: Contract Compensation: $20-$25/ hour depending on experience Contractor Work Model: Onsite Pediatric Clinical Research Experience Required Phlebotomy Required Responsibilities
- Support the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) and Principal Investigator (PI) in conducting clinical research studies.
- Assist with organizing files, project information, and data in compliance with SOPs, GCP, and regulatory practices.
- Compile and prepare essential documents such as FDA forms, CVs, licensure, and IRB submission forms, obtaining all necessary signatures.
- Coordinate clinical research activities including participant recruitment, screening, and enrollment per study protocols.
- Pre-screen potential study participants based on protocol-specific inclusion/exclusion criteria.
- Communicate effectively with study participants and their families to provide information and ensure schedule adherence.
- Manage study data accurately and timely using electronic data capture systems.
- Assist in the transportation of laboratory specimens, including acquiring dry ice for shipping.
- Participate in study visits, perform procedures, collect specimens, and administer questionnaires.
- Troubleshoot study-related issues collaboratively with the research team.
- Prepare study materials such as pre-screening forms, case report forms, and lab preparation supplies.
- Maintain compliance with regulations governing human specimen transport, obtaining IATA certification if necessary.
- Attend study team meetings, training sessions, and educational events.
- Ensure proper storage and maintenance of study supplies and equipment.
- Assist in training staff and participating in outreach activities such as mail-outs and marketing efforts.
- Support completion and collection of W9 forms for new research subjects.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; certification as Medical Assistant or a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field (biology, public health, etc.) preferred.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology preferred.
- Experience in a clinical research environment is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in electronic data systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols to minimize exposure to blood-borne and airborne pathogens.
- Availability to travel up to 25% within the community for site and investigator meetings.
