SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Materials Manager, gets orders ready for shipping, receives materialand equipment, and loads and unloads trucks according to established procedures and shippingregulations, meeting customer delivery requirements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to includeother duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.1. Pick orders from stock or from staging area.2. Prepare product for shipping to customers.3. Ensure customer order and product match; box, crate, shrink-wrap as necessary.4. Contact common carriers and schedule pick-ups, ensuring the meeting of customer deliveryrequirements.5. Load trucks with outgoing products and unload trucks with incoming materials.6. Inspect materials and ensure bills of lading are correct.7. Verify the quantity and quality of material received.8. Place incoming materials into storage.9. Pull materials from storage and deliver to production as needed.10. Affix completed address label and any other special labels required for thehandling of material and specified by the carrier.11. Complete and maintain all required paperwork.12. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.13. Experience managing multiple shipping docks.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw andinterpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written ororal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables instandardized situations.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit;use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talkor hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, orcrawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine. The employee must frequently lift and/or moveup to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
