Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team at Montcare Wheaton in Wheaton-Glenmont, Maryland. As an integral part of our rehabilitation and skilled nursing center, the Activities Assistant will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging activities that promote socialization, recreation, and mental stimulation for our residents. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop personalized plans of care that incorporate recreational and therapeutic activities

  • Coordinate and facilitate activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and entertainment events

  • Assess resident needs and preferences to ensure activities are tailored to their abilities and interests

  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules

  • Monitor and evaluate the success of activity programs and make recommendations for improvement

  • Participate in resident assessments and care plan development as needed

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience in activities or recreation programming

  • Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed
