Job overviewHughes General Contractors is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to assist in overseeing heavy civil construction projects. As an Excavation Foreman, you will supervise and work alongside our superintendent, a crew of heavy equipment operators, and laborers to ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely.Responsibilities:Supervise field operations with a hands-on approachCoordinate and sequence activities for heavy civil crewsOperate various types of heavy equipmentExamine blueprints to determine the dimensions of structure.Lay out floor-plans/worksite as neededInspect work performed by subordinates to ensure conformance with specificationsShoot grades with level and GPS to very accurate specs Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedulesAnalyze and resolve work problemsEstimate, requisition, and inspect materialsQualifications:5+ years of supervisory/crew leadership experience3+ years of heavy civil construction experience5+ years of operating large heavy equipment experienceStrong understanding of safety protocolsAbility to carry 70 lbs. or more repetitivelyPhysical ability to bend, climb, twist, balance, stoop, etc.High School diploma/GED preferredA few extra perks:Steady, year-round employmentOpportunities for growth and professional developmentOutstanding employee cultureCollaborative and dynamic work environmentSpecial Requirements: Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to, and at all times, during employment.Hughes General Contractors, Inc., is an equal opportunity employer.
