We are currently seeking experienced Residential Builders / Construction Managers to support our growing communities in Panama City and DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
Position Overview
The Residential Builder / Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction of new homes from start through completion. This position manages day-to-day field operations, coordinates trade contractors and suppliers, maintains construction schedules, and ensures each home meets Valor Communities’ standards for quality, safety, organization, and customer service.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and experienced residential construction professional who can successfully manage multiple homes, schedules, trade partners, and deadlines at the same time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily construction of assigned homes from start through completion
- Walk homes regularly to monitor progress, workmanship, cleanliness, and job-site safety
- Develop, maintain, and update construction schedules
- Coordinate trade contractors, suppliers, inspections, employees, and material deliveries
- Ensure construction is completed according to approved plans, specifications, building codes, and company standards
- Communicate plan revisions, change orders, and construction updates to the appropriate team members
- Schedule and coordinate municipal inspections
- Implement and enforce company safety policies and job-site requirements
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
- Identify construction or scheduling concerns and take action to keep homes progressing on schedule
- Implement and enforce quality-control standards with the goal of delivering homes with minimal defects
- Direct and hold trade contractors accountable for workmanship and timely completion
- Coordinate material orders and verify the accuracy and condition of deliveries
- Review vendor and trade contractor invoices for accuracy and authorize payment when appropriate
- Provide regular production updates and weekly construction reports
- Communicate professionally with customers during scheduled job-site interactions
- Address customer questions or concerns and coordinate resolutions with the appropriate departments
- Conduct pre-closing walk-throughs with homeowners
- Coordinate completion of punch-list items with trade partners and the warranty team
- Support other construction team members as needed to meet company production goals
Qualifications
- Five or more years of residential construction management, superintendent, builder, or related field experience; or a relevant degree combined with applicable construction experience
- Strong knowledge of residential construction processes, sequencing, materials, inspections, and building practices
- Experience managing multiple homes, construction schedules, and trade partners simultaneously
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and related documents
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to identify quality concerns and hold trade contractors accountable for corrections
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Commitment to maintaining safe, clean, and professional job sites
- Production homebuilding experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to travel between assigned communities and job sites as needed
Compensation and Benefits
Total Compensation: $65,000–$100,000 annually
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and assigned responsibilities.
