Project Manager
Location: West Sacramento, CA
Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 + Full Benefits + 401(k) Match + PTO
A well-established general contractor with roughly 150 employees is adding a Project Manager to its growing team. This firm has built a strong regional reputation delivering both tenant improvement and ground-up commercial and industrial projects, and maintains a steady pipeline of upcoming work. The right candidate will take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout, managing budgets, schedules, and coordination with Superintendents to ensure work stays on track and is delivered to spec.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish, drawing on 5-10+ years of relevant field and office experience
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and inspection reports to ensure accurate execution
- Build and maintain project budgets and schedules
- Apply sound construction practices and project management fundamentals throughout the project lifecycle
- Review, negotiate, and process change orders promptly to avoid schedule or budget slippage
- Direct and support Superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors to keep crews aligned and productive
- Utilize MS Project, Excel, and the broader Office suite to manage documentation and reporting
- Juggle multiple active projects and competing priorities without losing sight of details
- Partner with the Superintendent to confirm work is completed to plan and spec
- Operate effectively under tight deadlines
- Travel to project sites as needed
Requirements:
- 5+ years of general contracting/project management experience in commercial construction
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects, ideally including TI and/or ground-up work
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred
- Comfortable working across all levels of an organization, from field staff to executive leadership
- Estimating background is a plus
- Strong client-facing communication skills, with a focus on satisfaction and long-term relationships
- Sound judgment and the ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure
