Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a General Work Floater for our client. This position involves assisting with material processing and equipment operations, ensuring product quality per standard work instructions and tolerances. Responsibilities include segregating and labeling nonconforming parts, preparing and staging materials for the next operation, and completing required paperwork and inspection sheets accurately.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Assist with material processing and equipment operations as assigned.
  • Maintain acceptable quality of produced parts per standard work instructions and product/process tolerances.
  • Segregate, mark, and identify nonconforming parts/materials.
  • Prepare, box, and/or stage material or parts for next operation (i.e. shipping).
  • Accurately complete necessary job order paperwork and inspection sheets.
  • Maintain clean work area(s).
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, as assigned.
  • Convey in-process, finished, scrap, and nonconforming materials to proper staging, storage, and production areas as needed. Assure nonconforming and scrap material (i.e. P1, P4, P6) are properly identified.
  • Other duties as assigned - which may not necessarily correspond with the primary duties listed above.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • 1 year, industrial or manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, shop orders, etc.
  • Ability to use, read, and comprehend measuring and testing equipment such as scales and thickness gauges to check product specifications.
  • Basic math comprehension.
  • Knowledge of SPC techniques
  • Safe and competent use of a forklift must be demonstrated.
  • Proper energy lockout methods must be followed prior to repair, setup, or maintenance on machinery.
  • Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.
  • must be able to tolerate working in areas with levels of dust and noise.
  • must be able to tolerate temperatures based on daily climate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to move or lift to 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Communication skills.
