About OKSI
For over 30 years, OKSI has built electro-optical and infrared sensing systems for GPS-denied navigation, target detection, terminal guidance, and multispectral imaging across air, ground, and space platforms — pairing custom EO/IR hardware with AI/ML autonomy software.
The Role
We're looking for a Buyer to handle our purchasing operations from request through order closeout. You'll work directly with vendors to source quality materials and services, while keeping documentation organized and compliant with government contracting requirements. This is a hands-on purchasing role for someone who's detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable owning the full order lifecycle.
What You Will Do
Buying & Vendor Work
- Process purchase orders from start to finish
- Find, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers
- Get and compare quotes; keep pricing decisions documented
- Track vendor performance on delivery, quality, and responsiveness
- Handle any issues with late or defective orders—troubleshoot and find alternative vendors when needed
- Keep internal teams updated on order status
Compliance & Records
- Apply contracting rules to purchase orders
- Keep organized, audit-ready files for every purchase
- Document pricing decisions and sourcing choices
- Be ready for audits and compliance checks
Finding the Right Vendors
- Research and identify qualified suppliers
- Evaluate vendors on price, delivery, capability, and reliability
- Build and manage a preferred vendor list
- 2+ years of purchasing, supply chain, or buyer experience
- High school diploma minimum
- Experience with ERP systems (Odoo, Unanet, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Problem-solving mindset—resourceful when finding solutions
- Attention to detail with documentation
- Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business, supply chain, procurement, or a related field
- Government contracting or defense contractor background
- Experience with government contract administration
Compensation and Benefits
- $25.50 - $33.50 hourly. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budget allocated for this role.

Additional Requirements:
- You must have, or be eligible to obtain, a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance. You will be subject to government security investigations and must be able to access classified information. The inability to obtain a security clearance will result in you being ineligible for the position.
ITAR Requirements
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.
