We are seeking an experienced and business-minded attorney to serve as a key legal advisor to TMS affiliated entities including the independent mortgage banking company. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and business stakeholders to provide strategic legal counsel across a broad spectrum of matters, including mortgage lending and servicing, regulatory compliance, employment law, corporate governance, commercial transactions, litigation management, and risk mitigation.


As an Attorney, you will:

  • Negotiate, write, and execute agreements and contracts.
  • Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues including employment, corporate governance, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with executives and employees to achieve common goals.
  • Identify and communicate legal risks and available mitigation strategies.
  • Explain legal language in agreements, regulations and statutes.
  • Research unique legal issues impacting the organization(s) by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates.
  • Perform pre-litigation work, including conducting investigations and assembling relevant documents, to minimize risks and maximize legal rights.
  • Provide training to company and its affiliates on substantive legal topics.

  • Strong legal writing & research skills.
  • Ability to multi-task & prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of the mortgage industry and/or consumer financial services a plus.


Education & Experience:

  • Extensive working knowledge of the legal field
  • Experience with tax, real estate and transactional matters.
  • Litigation experience a plus
  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution


Certifications and Licenses

Admitted to the Bar of the State of Connecticut
