The Lead Two-Year-Olds Teacher at Children's Land is responsible for nurturing a vibrant and stimulating learning environment where two-year-old children can thrive. This role demands a dedicated individual who can craft engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences that cater to the unique developmental needs of two-year-olds. A comprehensive understanding of the DCFS requirements in Illinois is essential to ensure the highest standards of childcare and education.


Roles and Responsibilities:

%CF; Develop and follow age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.

%CF; Monitor the children's developmental milestones and maintain detailed records of their progress.

%CF; Facilitate a structured daily routine that includes playtime, learning activities, and rest periods.

%CF; Always ensure the safety of the children by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.

%CF; Maintain a clean and hygienic classroom environment to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses.

%CF; Collaborate with parents to keep them informed about their child's development and any concerns.

%CF; Work closely with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and cooperative working environment.

%CF; Create and utilize educational materials to stimulate the children's senses and promote learning.

%CF; Organize activities that encourage the children to explore their surroundings and develop their motor skills.

%CF; Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.

%CF; Stay abreast of the latest developments in early childhood education and care.


Qualifications:

%CF; Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

%CF; Previous experience working with two-year-olds or young children.

%CF; Knowledge of DCFS requirements in Illinois.

%CF; CPR and First Aid certification.

%CF; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

%CF; Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

%CF; Patience and a genuine love for working with young children.


Skills:

%CF; Lift and carry children weighing up to 40 lbs.

%CF; Stand for extended periods of time, run, and actively engage in play with children.

%CF; Balance multiple tasks simultaneously (feeding, teaching, supervising) while remaining attentive and responsive.

%CF; Transition quickly and easily between sitting (chair or floor) and standing positions.

%CF; Effectively manage children’s challenging behaviors.

%CF; Demonstrate empathy and strong interpersonal skills to foster supportive, positive interactions with children and parents.

%CF; Strong observational and analytical skills.

%CF; Creativity in developing educational materials and activities.

%CF; Ability to manage time effectively and multitask.

%CF; Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education best practices.
