Job Description
The Maintenance Technical Lead responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment and buildings in support of ongoing operations.

  • Oversee and direct the activities of a small multi-trade maintenance crew to complete required tasks in a safe and timely manner.

  • Comply with the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies and other applicable regulations in the organization and execution of maintenance activities.

  • Develop maintenance strategies, programs and make improvements to existing policies.

  • Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions

  • Manage all aspects of environmental health and safety conformance for the skilled trades

  • Oversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment and facilities

  • Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability

  • Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests

  • Point of contact for janitorial services contract.

  • Perform environmental inspections and coordinate waste pickups.

  • Procure parts, material and rentals required to complete maintenance tasks

  • Track data for performance measurable such as Preventative Maintenance task completion, overtime, etc.

  • Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment


Basic Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management experience

  • Ability to work ANY shift and overtime as required

  • Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with employees at all levels of the Plant, from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership

  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving experience

  • Goal‑oriented self‑starter with the ability to lead teams

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop skilled trade employees

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field

  • Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing

  • Experience leading maintenance teams in a union environment

  • Green Belt/Red X/Six Sigma training

  • Experience with controls, robotics, drives, system‑level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, conveyance systems, welding (all types), paint process and associated systems, and vision systems and sensors
