General Summary

Under general direction, supervises a group of employees engaged in minor bus maintenance, servicing operations, and cleaning of coach interiors, seats, floors, windows and exteriors within the Service Lane section of Maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of workers engaged in servicing and cleaning buses and other automotive rolling stock by:
• Reviews operations, makes work assignments and establishes performance standards.
• Inspects work to assure that it is performed correctly and efficiently.
• Instructs subordinates in the proper methods of cleaning and servicing vehicles.
• Initiates disciplinary actions and assists in the resolution of grievances.
• Evaluates employee performances.
• Keeps records and prepares routine and special reports on activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year high school.
• Knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Mechanical knowledge, aptitude, initiative and resourcefulness.
• Ability to perform all duties of the Coach Service Attendant classification.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with proper endorsement within thirty (30) days of appointment.
• Tact in dealing with subordinates, peers and managerial personnel.
• Ability to prepare reports and maintenance records.
• Ability to use a computer.
