HR Assistant/Recruiter
Job Description
Our client is seeking a versatile Recruiter / HR Assistant to support both talent acquisition and day-to-day human resources operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is approximately 50% recruiting and 50% HR administration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys balancing candidate recruitment with employee support and HR processes.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent customer service to candidates and employees alike.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (50%)
- Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and other recruiting channels.
- Review resumes and evaluate candidates against position requirements.
- Conduct phone screens and initial candidate assessments.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Maintain candidate records and recruiting activity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Extend offers and coordinate pre-employment activities, including background checks and drug screenings.
- Build and maintain candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Participate in job fairs and other recruiting events as needed.
HR Administration (50%)
- Assist with new hire onboarding, orientation, and onboarding documentation.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Process employment-related paperwork, including new hires, status changes, and terminations.
- Enter and maintain employee information within the HRIS.
- Assist with employee documentation.
- Support payroll by collecting and verifying employee information and timekeeping records.
- Respond to employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
- Coordinate employee recognition programs, events, and engagement activities.
- Assist with leave administration, workers' compensation, and unemployment documentation as needed.
- Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and employment documentation.
- Support compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, scanning, scheduling meetings, and ordering office supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in both recruiting and HR administration.
- Manufacturing or industrial recruiting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting onboarding and general HR processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Experience using an HRIS is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-volume recruiting.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance.
- Experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, or employee relations.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is ideal
