Job Description

Job Description
Shape the heartbeat of innovation in Rancho Cucamonga

SkillSetGroup is hiring an Industrial Automation Controls Electrician for a direct-hire role supporting both R&D and high-volume manufacturing. Your work will keep new ideas moving from the lab to the production floor, installing, programming, and sustaining the electrical control systems that power automated equipment.

A day in the life

You start by reviewing an electrical schematic for a line upgrade. By mid-morning, you’re programming a Rockwell PLC and verifying HMI tags while bringing a VFD online. After lunch, you’re troubleshooting a relay fault with minimal supervision, collaborating with engineers and outside contractors to push a new piece of equipment into service. Before you head out, you document changes, confirm code compliance, and prep for a short trip to a sister facility later in the week.

What you’ll do
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical control systems across R&D and manufacturing areas
  • Program and diagnose Rockwell PLCs
  • Work hands-on with HMIs, VFDs, motor controls, and relay logic
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics
  • Support control-system upgrades, modifications, and new equipment start-ups
  • Partner with engineers, technicians, vendors, and contractors to resolve issues quickly
  • Independently troubleshoot electrical and automation problems
  • Follow electrical codes, safety practices, and quality standards at all times
  • Perform occasional manual labor and travel to other production facilities as needed
What you bring
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years in industrial electrical or controls roles
  • Hands-on Rockwell PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Strong grasp of electrical theory and control logic
  • Experience with HMIs, VFDs, motor controls, and relay logic
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Preferred: Technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology
  • Plus: Forklift experience
Benefits
  • Profit sharing
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Flexible spending account
