Job Title: Graduate Assistant (GA)

Department: Student Accountability and Restorative Practices (SARP)

Reports to: Dean of Students (or designee)

Position Type: Half-Time (20 hours)

Duration: Academic Year 2026-2027

Job Summary

The GA supports staff in SARP with a variety of tasks related to research/assessment, programming, and administrative duties. This position provides a graduate student with practical experience in student affairs administration, student conduct processes, restorative practices, assessment, and student support services within a higher education environment. The GA collaborates with professional staff to assist in the implementation of SARP initiatives, contributes to departmental assessment and educational programming, and supports students navigating conduct-related processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • SARP Support:Assist with the administration ofSARPpracticesandprocesses, including case preparation, correspondence, documentation management, and educational follow-up initiatives. Support the facilitation and coordination of restorative and educational interventions designed to promote student learning and community responsibility.
  • Assessment and Data Management:Assist with the collection, organization, and analysis of departmental data related toSARPoutcomes, educationalpathways,programming, and student learning outcomes. Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and assessment materials that inform departmental planning and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Educational Programming and Outreach:Collaborate with professional staff to develop and implement educational programs focused on topics such as personal responsibility, ethical decision-making, conflict resolution, community standards,etc.Assistin the creation of educational materials, marketing content, and outreach initiatives.
  • Administrative and Operational Support:Maintainaccurateand confidential departmental records,assistwith scheduling meetings, prepare materials fortrainingand workshops, and support the day-to-day operations of the department.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment/acceptance in a Lackawanna College graduate program in: Business Administration, Higher Education, Organizational Leadership & Management, or Professional Studies
  • Strong academic standing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Demonstrated interest in student development, restorative practices, conflict resolution, behavioral intervention, conduct administration, or student support services.
