Certified Medical Assistant / Outpatient Primary Care
A community-focused healthcare organization near Dufur, Oregon is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support its outpatient primary care team.
This role is ideal for a CMA who enjoys combining direct patient care with clinic coordination and operational support. You will work closely with providers, nurses, patients, and support staff while contributing to an organized, patient-centered clinical environment.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Complete patient intake, including health histories, vital signs, medication review, and visit preparation.
- Prepare examination rooms and patients for appointments, treatments, and procedures.
- Assist medical providers during examinations and in-office procedures.
- Provide patients with instructions and education under the direction of licensed clinical staff.
- Serve as a communication link between patients, providers, and licensed nurses.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient information within the electronic health record.
- Support patient scheduling, follow-up communication, and clinic workflow.
- Perform quality-control checks and contribute to performance-improvement initiatives.
- Stock clinical supplies and maintain organized patient-care areas.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment according to established procedures.
- Support a respectful and efficient experience for patients from diverse backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong patient communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with providers, nurses, and clinic support staff.
- Comfortable balancing clinical responsibilities with administrative tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience using Epic or another electronic health record system.
- Previous experience in outpatient primary care or community health.
Compensation
- $25.00 to $27.00 per hour, based on experience and certification.
- Additional $0.75 per hour bilingual differential for English and Spanish proficiency.
