Essence Health Services, LLC is building a Standby Roster of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide In-Home and Community Support (IHCS) services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Montgomery, Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Lancaster and Bucks Counties.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition, ensuring compliance with care plans
  • Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management to promote healthy eating habits
  • Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe manual handling techniques during patient transfers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations
  • Engage in patient observation to identify changes in behavior or health status promptly and report findings to healthcare professionals
  • Facilitate community outings or transportation assistance to appointments or activities as needed

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is advantageous
  • Ability to perform patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic first aid including CPR
  • Experience with manual handling techniques like heavy lifting and patient transfer methods is essential for safety
  • Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within a multidisciplinary care setting
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of resident information
  • Valid certification in first aid and CPR; additional certifications related to hospice care or geriatrics are a plus
