Primary Responsibilities
- Obtain accurate patient histories and document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Safely restrain and position patients for examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
- Create treatment plans at the direction of the veterinarian and review them with clients
- Provide clear client education and effectively communicate veterinarian instructions
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with diagnostics, treatments, and emergency care as needed
- Process patient blood work and assist with other laboratory tasks
- Feed, groom, weigh, and care for animals staying in the hospital
- Clean and sanitize cages, kennels, and exam rooms to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Sterilize equipment and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and set up
- Perform routine hospital maintenance tasks including laundry, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal
- Ensure every client feels supported and every patient receives compassionate, attentive care
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of veterinary hospital or animal handling experience preferred (canine and feline)
- Ability to safely lift pets up to 50 pounds and walk dogs up to 130 pounds
- Strong communication skills with a passion for client education and teamwork
- Excellent attention to detail and comfort working within electronic medical records
- Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to providing exceptional care to both patients and clients
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position
- Schedule consists of 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift
- Must be available to work at least one weekend day
- In-person work within a busy veterinary hospital setting
