The Gilt Barn Department Head is responsible for overseeing the daily aspects of gilt production in the breeding unit, but not limited to maintaining breeding and farrowing targets, daily AI and natural breeding, semen inventory and delivery, herd health and vaccination program, nutrition, isolation and acclimation of replacement gilts, and record keeping.
