THE POSITION:

The Door Technician is responsible for inspecting and repairing door assemblies in both new and existing commercial facilities.

THE LOCATION:

The office is based in Lakeland, Florida, and provides services throughout the Southeast. Some travel is required for this position.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicating with customers in a professional manner
  • Following inspection guidelines and procedures, including accurately identifying and documenting deficiencies in accordance with NFPA standards
  • Completing repairs to doors, frames, hardware, and related components to ensure compliance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 105
  • Adjusting doors (including shimming) and installing approved products to ensure proper code compliance
  • Accurately identifying and gathering information for any hardware that needs to be ordered
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license with no major moving violations within the past three years
  • Reliable transportation
  • Proficiency with computers, smartphones, and other productivity tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to accuracy and quality
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field
  • Ability to read and interpret Life Safety Plans and navigate independently within facilities
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in professional customer service relations preferred
  • Professional demeanor with strong internal and external communication abilities
