Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead the daily operations of a well-established, full-service restaurant known for outstanding food, exceptional hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the business, including guest satisfaction, financial performance, staff development, and operational execution. The ideal candidate is a visible leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for creating memorable dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all front-of-house and back-of-house operations to ensure exceptional food quality, service, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop managers and hourly team members while building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and hospitality.
- Drive sales growth and profitability by managing labor, food and beverage costs, inventory, and operating expenses.
- Review financial reports, P&L statements, and key performance metrics to develop action plans that improve restaurant performance.
- Lead service during peak business hours, providing hands-on support and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
- Build lasting relationships with guests, respond to feedback professionally, and resolve concerns quickly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety standards, liquor laws, and company policies.
- Oversee scheduling, payroll, inventory, maintenance, and day-to-day operational needs.
- Partner with the culinary team to execute seasonal menu launches, special events, and promotional initiatives.
- Foster a positive workplace culture focused on employee engagement, retention, and continuous development.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of General Manager experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to build, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.
- Solid understanding of restaurant financials, including P&L management, budgeting, labor controls, food and beverage cost management, and inventory.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in upscale casual dining, tavern, gastropub, or chef-driven restaurant concepts is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
