For additional information about our company, visit our website at www.fisherind.com POSITION SCOPE The Scraper Operator operates heavy machinery to manipulate earth and rock at a construction site. Must be able to operate a CAT 627 Push Pull Scraper according to project specifications. The individual will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment daily. Position requires extensive overnight travel. PRIMARY DUTIESOperate equipment efficiently to maintain production goalsAssist with setup and tear down of plantsPerform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisorGeneral housekeeping of equipment and plant daily or as directed by supervisorMust be able to lift objects weighing 75 lb. on a regular basisThe use of a shovel to move material will be necessaryPerform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policyPerform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startupReport any incident to the Supervisor or safety teamClean and maintain equipment -Perform routine inspection of assigned equipment and report any needed repair to the supervisorAlways maintain 3 points of contact on all pieces of equipmentRespond to signals and directions by other staff members and work in coordination with themOperate the equipment in adherence to safety policies, procedures, job site and/or traffic lawsReport any safety violation to the SupervisorPerform other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTSApplicants must be at least 18 years oldHigh School Diploma or GED2+ years' operating a diverse range of heavy equipment preferredExcellent hand, eye and foot coordinationComfort working in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuationsDisciplined, dependable, and resourcefulBasic understanding of construction principles and proceduresAble to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specificationsWork well in a team environment.Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenanceBasic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torchAbility to read grade stakes and operate transit preferred Position requires extensive overnight travel Fisher Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
