The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the quoting process for new and existing business opportunities. This role plays a vital part in ensuring competitive pricing, profitability, and alignment with customer expectations while supporting compliance with aerospace and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

· **Cost Estimation & Quoting **
  • - Prepare detailed cost estimates for precision metal fabrication projects including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.

    • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to develop accurate quotes.
    • Analyze historical data and current production capabilities to determine realistic costs and delivery schedules.
    • Work with engineering and production teams to validate manufacturability and accuracy of estimates.
    • Generate and submit formal quotations to customers in a timely manner.
  • Material & Vendor Coordination- Collaborate with procurement to source material pricing and lead times.

    • Evaluate supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing and reliability.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs and market trends that affect estimating accuracy.
  • Process Improvement & Documentation:- Continuously improve estimating tools, templates, and workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

    • Document assumptions, pricing strategies, and scope clarifications in each estimate.
    • Participate in post-quote reviews and lessons learned to improve future estimating practices.
  • **Cross- Functional Collaboration: **- Interface with engineering, sales, production, and quality assurance teams to align quotes with internal capabilities

    • Support customer service and sales teams with technical and pricing information during the proposal phase
    • Assist in transitioning from quote to production by providing detailed project information to executive management team

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience- 3+ years of experience in estimating or manufacturing cost analysis, preferably in precision sheet metal fabrication or related industries (aerospace, defense, automotive).
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes including cutting, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly.
    • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
    • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
    • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication abilities.
